After years of struggling with obesity, and trying fad diets, crash diets, and obsessive dieting, I realized that it was time to learn about proper nutrition and healthy living.
I studied proper health and nutrition, but I still struggled with cravings for excessive pasta and sweets. I couldn’t leave food on my plate even when I was stuffed and uncomfortable. I ate late, snacked on junk food, was always tired and struggled to drink water.
It was at that point that I realized that knowing what was good for me wasn’t enough. I realized how closely related our minds, body and soul are. My job required a lot of travel. I was in more time zones, more hotels and on more airplanes in a month than most people experience in a lifetime. I was exhausted physically and mentally. I was unable to sleep for fear I would oversleep my alarm, I was constantly sleeping in foreign hotel rooms and walking into walls in the middle of the night, I experienced so much anxiety that I would have to look in my briefcase to remind myself what state or country I was in. No joke!
So, what does this have to do with my weight? One night I was relaxing in my hotel room and they had a relaxation CD for the guests to use. I decided I would try the CD, what did I have to lose? I couldn’t sleep more than 30 minutes at a time all night long and I was completely sleep deprived. I put on the CD and found myself several hours later in my room, in the same position, and actually had a stiff neck because I hadn’t moved all night! It was amazing! I had actually slept through a night for the first time in months!
From that night on, I began studying hypnosis. I learned that hypnosis is a form of relaxation, so I began studying with all the enthusiasm and energy I could. After doing some preliminary research, I became a firm believer in the concepts and philosophies of hypnosis. I had lived it, experienced it, and I believed it. Shortly after that research, I became a Certified Master Clinical Hypnotherapist and later went on to become a trainer. Sixty pounds later I had reached the conclusion, hypnosis is a very effective method to overcome habits and make behavioral modifications easily and pain free.
